Moto Rival A455

Our Koodo Ninja has informed us that the Motorola Rival will be launching in the coming weeks.  The internal document reveals the Rival will be launching at retail locations on either August 17th or 24th.

Pricing for Koodo’s newest QWERTY keyboard was not detailed in the memo.  Parent company, Telus, did launch the Rival a last week for $299.99 no term; so expect Koodo’s to retail around $200 or $50 on the Tab.

Motorola had announced its new Rival A455 mobile messaging phone. The phone is packed with some cool features aimed at those who love to send messages all day. The handset comes with a full slide-out QWERTY keyboard, with some elements of this being touchscreen.

ZDNet have managed to get their hands on the Motorola Rival A455, so thought they would offer their readers a full hands-on review of the device. I like how the reviewer said that if you want a Smartphone but are not prepared to pay the price, then this phone mimics many of the features that you associate with a Smartphone.

The Motorola Rival A455 has a limited audience as it is intended more for the youth; this is for two reasons, the messaging features and the color choices, black with purple piping and silver with red piping. For the full hands-on review, visit ZDNet here.

Its slider design reveals a full QWERTY keypad when open, Cool! Motorola Hint QA30 will be available in Q4 2008. It will support CDMA calling and EVDO data.

The good: The Motorola Hint QA30 offers a high-resolution display, threaded text messaging, and stereo Bluetooth. We also like the 3.5mm headset jack and the functional music player.
The bad: The Motorola Hint QA30 has poorly designed controls and the alphabetic keyboard was difficult to use. The battery cover wasn't secure.
The bottom line: The Motorola Hint QA30 seems like a good idea, but some major design concerns keep it from being a top messaging phone.
