Nokia N97 Mini to launch today ..?
Is it possible that the Nokia N97 Mini will be launched today? It’s a real possibility, as Nokia has already announced the Nokia Booklet 3G and Nokia N900 Maemo this week (not forgetting the Nokia 5230), so we could be ripe for another great day. Join us after the break to find out why we think the Nokia N97 Mini could launch today…
A moderator on the Vodafone forums said the carrier would not be getting the touchscreen and QWERTY keyboard wielding N97, but would instead be launching the N97 Mini later this year, due to its "competitive pricing". No additional info was revealed about the handset and the comment has since been edited, along with users replies.
The Nokia N97 Mini could be on its way today, at least we hope it is. After all, Nokia seems to have ramped up expectation about Nokia World 2009 to fever pitch this week by announcing three new products – the Nokia Booklet 3G, the Nokia 5230 and last but not least the Nokia N900 Maemo tablet.
We’re thinking the Nokia N97 Mini may well follow suit, largely because the same French site, BeGeek, who managed to get its hands on the official image of the Nokia N900 ahead of schedule, also managed the same trick with the official Nokia N97 Mini image is.
The Nokia Booklet 3G mini-laptop has been announced ahead of Nokia World 2009 and we’re all pretty excited about getting our hands on what looks like a super-stylish and always connected super-netbook. If you’ve already seen out image gallery, of the Nokia Booklet 3G, then you need to check out the video and be stunned at what’s coming down the pipe later this year…
The Nokia Booklet 3G looks pretty amazing. The design is definitely something that mixes easy of use with style and grace. If you want to see what this 10-inch mini-laptop looks like in the flesh, then check out the video below and see for yourself. The Nokia Booklet 3G mixes everything we want from a Nokia mini-laptop, combining a HD Ready screen, a near full-size keyboard and all of our favourite Nokia Ovi apps pre-installed. Nokia is claiming the Nokia Booklet 3G will last 12 hours at a go from the battery, which is simply amazing and means you’ll be able to surf and stay in touch longer than just about any other mini-laptop out there.
We’ll get the full lowdown on the Nokia Booklet 3G at Nokia World 2009.
Nokia N86 8MP NAM tipped for August 22nd US launch..
According to The Nokia Blog’s sources, the Nokia N86 8MP NAM will land in US stores come August 22nd. Announced back at Mobile World Congress in February, the N86 8MP has, unsurprisingly, an 8-megapixel camera with autofocus and flash, 3G HSDPA/HSUPA, a 2.6-inch OLED display running at 240 x 320 QVGA resolution, and 8GB of onboard memory augmented with microSD cards.
As for the price, the expected sticker is $499; oddly enough that’s less than the pre-order price over at Nokia’s official webstore, where the N86 goes for $558. Flagship stores may end up getting their stock in a few days earlier than the 22nd, so it’ll be worth ringing around if you’re nearby one. While the N86 8MP may fall short in sheer megapixel number compared to other camera-equipped cellphones on – or nearly on – the market, according to Nokia it’s the strength and selection of their optics that will make all the difference. Check out our hands-on video with the phone below.
