The lack of record sale figures though seems to haven't made Acer give up on the high-end smartphone business, as we now witness their second foray with the Acer Stream. What do we expect from this handset? You know that in most cases the second-generation product is more mature than the first attempt. That said, Acer has already spent some time to feel the market and get into its rhythm, so we now feel it is about time for the company to come out with something impressive.

The package contains:

Acer Stream

8GB microSD card with adapter

Carrying case

Screen protector

Wall charger with detachable microUSB cable

HDMI cable

Handsfree earphones

User guide and some other papers

LG hopes that the new range will give younger users a reason to upgrade their budget mobiles and join the touch-screen revolution.

The first mobile in the range is the LG Cookie, which has a 2.4 inch touch-screen that displays a virtual QWERTY keypad in either portrait or landscape mode. It also has a 3.5 mm headphone socket for plugging in your favourite headphones, an FM radio and microSD support for storing music, photos and videos.

The second new mobile is the LG Cookie Style, which is identical to the Wink apart from feature a slightly larger 2.8 inch touch-screen and also features accents on the front button panel. It comes in variety of colour options giving the youngsters a chance to express themselves.

The 3rd new mobile is the LG Cookie 3G which adds 3G support to the LG Wink so you can keep up to date with your social networks and send and receive emails using advanced email technology.

All 3 mobiles will be launching in Europe in August and will probably come in well under £100.

Users can watch more videos, listen to more music, browse the Internet or keep using their favorite apps even longer. The iPhone 3GS also supports 7.2 Mbps HSDPA for faster networking speeds. It runs on Apple's new iPhone OS 3.0 software and has the ability to cut, copy and paste text. It also features a new built-in digital compass for instant navigation. The Compass app shows travelers which way they are headed and rotates as they change direction. The compass is also integrated within Maps, so it automatically orients any map to the direction they are facing.

Main Features

Up to 2x faster and more responsive than iPhone 3G for faster application launches, Web page rendering, and email attachment viewing

Shoot high-quality VGA video in portrait or landscape, trim the footage by adjusting start and end points, publish it on YouTube, or sync it back to a Mac or PC using iTunes

New 3.0-megapixel camera has built-in autofocus and a handy new feature that lets users tap the display to focus

Voice Control recognizes the names in Contacts and knows the music on the iPod so users just have to ask to place a call or play a song

Integrated digital compass can point the way and automatically reorients maps to match the direction users are facing

Large 3.5-inch (diagonal) widescreen Multi-Touch display with 320 x 480 px resolution at 163 ppi and support for display of multiple languages and characters simultaneously

MobileMe stores all email, contacts, and calendars on a secure online server and pushes them down to the iPhone, iPod touch, Mac, and PC

Stereo earphones with built-in microphone

Cut, copy, and paste words and photos, even between applications

Rotate the iPhone 3GS to landscape to use a larger keyboard in Mail, Messages, Notes, and Safari

Motorola together with Google have officially taken the wraps off the new Droid X for Verizon. Upgraded of Motorola Droid 2.0 An upgraded Motorola Droid with a bunch of new specs and features, the Droid X will debut on Big Red for $199 with a two new year contract ($100 mail-in rebate included), starting July 15th.

Verizon Motorola Droid X

Customers looking to buy the new Motorola Droid X on Verizon should also know that a $29.99 data plan is required, and for those of you who’d like a mobile hotspot plan, that’s $20 more for 2GB of data. Another interesting thing is that anyone (not just those who already own a Droid, like Apple did with their new iPhone 4) with a contract ending sometime in 2010, will be eligible for a special upgrade discount to get the X.

Regarding specs and features, the new Motorola Droid X for Verizon comes with a lovely 4.3-inch 854×480 touchscreen display, runs Android 2.1with an all-new UI, and packs a 1GHz TI OMAP3640 processor under the hood. Adding to the goodies list is an 8 megapixel camera with dual LED flash capable of 720p HD video recording, HDMI out, 8 GB of built-in storage (expandable up to 32GB) and the fact that Android 2.2 Froyo with Adobe Flash 10.1 support will be coming later this summer as an upgrade.

On top of that we’re hearing that the Droid X is going to feature a Swype multitouch keyboard,

So how `bout it folks, are you going to forget about the new iPhone 4 or the HTC EVO 4G and buy Verizon’s new Motorola Droid X?

If you’re waiting to get your hands on an iPhone 4, you’re surely aware of the disastrous situation surrounding the release of the device – and the problems continue, with yet another delay having just been announced – after AT&T stopped all sales for the device. As you may remember, the device was originally delayed to July 2 for many of those who had placed a pre-order. The new date is now July 14.

The information comes straight from Apple’s website, though it only says that the new release date is for orders placed today – it doesn’t say anything for those who’d ordered previously. There are also some rumors going around about Apple Store iPhone 4 orders that have been canceled through e-mail.

It seems that the popularity of the upcoming iPhone 4 has contributed to this small failure. It could, of course, be the result of problems on AT&T’s side, but it’s doubtful at this point. Let’s hope there won’t be any more delays and July 14th will actually see the release of the phones.
