Motorola Xoom is the first tablet to run Android 3.0 Honeycomb and to support 4G Network(via some hardware and software upgrade). Not only the software but also the eye popping hardware on Xoom dragged everyone’s attention.

The Motorola Xoom features a 1GHz Dual core Tegra 2 Processor, 1GB of RAM ,a 10.1-inch 1280 x 800 capacitive display(with scratch proof gorilla glass) and 32GB of Internal storage. With specs like that and also the tablet exclusive version of android running on it one could not help but get dragged towards it but the price could be the one that might repel you back.

Priced around $800 (off contract) the Xoom is surely one expensive piece of hardware.

Lets analyze Motorola xoom’s specs, features and build quality.

Performance

The 1GHz Tegra Cpu accompanied by 1gig RAM does manage to do all the basic tablet jobs without dropping a sweat. The tablet has been found to multitask ,run games, apps and browser effortlessly.

Sound and camera

The sound output is pretty amazing. The inbuilt speaker is crisp and loud enough.A decent 5MP camera has been installed on the rear of the device which is also capable of 720p HD video recording.

Battery life

one of the most important aspect to be tested, the battery life is where Xoom impressed us the most .A hands-on report says the tablet could run videos on 65% brightness level 8.20 hrs(without break),which is way better than 90% of the tablets.

Sanyo ZioBack at CTIA Wireless I first saw this phone debut for Cricket and thought, well… it is on Cricket but Sprint picked this dud up apart of their Sprint ID launch series of phones. The performance on this phone is absolutiely horrible and even worse to type on the virtual keyboard.

Motorola BACKFLIPOne of the first Android phones with radical design. The design is questionable as good and bad, but the worst part about this phone is that is still runs antique Android 1.5 operating system. Plus, since it’s an AT&T Android it doesn’t allow Android apps to be sideloaded.

GarminfoneThis Garmin GPS Navigation powered phone didn’t do well in sales and prices were even slashed. Can’t say we didn’t see this one coming.

4

Motorola Flip OutAppealing to the younger audience, to be a fun and hip Android phone should stay for the kiddies. The square screen size is so small only a kid can deal with it.

5

Dell StreakDell’s dud topped many news stories this year but disappointed when finally became available. Is it a phone? Rather huge to hold to the head… It is a tablet? Five inch screen is not really suitable for a tablet. The worst aspect is the old Android OS and custom skin (which will make seeing an upgrade impossible especially with dismal sales).

Motorola together with Google have officially taken the wraps off the new Droid X for Verizon. Upgraded of Motorola Droid 2.0 An upgraded Motorola Droid with a bunch of new specs and features, the Droid X will debut on Big Red for $199 with a two new year contract ($100 mail-in rebate included), starting July 15th.

Verizon Motorola Droid X

Customers looking to buy the new Motorola Droid X on Verizon should also know that a $29.99 data plan is required, and for those of you who’d like a mobile hotspot plan, that’s $20 more for 2GB of data. Another interesting thing is that anyone (not just those who already own a Droid, like Apple did with their new iPhone 4) with a contract ending sometime in 2010, will be eligible for a special upgrade discount to get the X.

Regarding specs and features, the new Motorola Droid X for Verizon comes with a lovely 4.3-inch 854×480 touchscreen display, runs Android 2.1with an all-new UI, and packs a 1GHz TI OMAP3640 processor under the hood. Adding to the goodies list is an 8 megapixel camera with dual LED flash capable of 720p HD video recording, HDMI out, 8 GB of built-in storage (expandable up to 32GB) and the fact that Android 2.2 Froyo with Adobe Flash 10.1 support will be coming later this summer as an upgrade.

On top of that we’re hearing that the Droid X is going to feature a Swype multitouch keyboard,

So how `bout it folks, are you going to forget about the new iPhone 4 or the HTC EVO 4G and buy Verizon’s new Motorola Droid X?

Android devices come from all walks of life but rarely do they carry as much baggage as the MILESTONE. Motorola seem to be betting the farm with the MILESTONE and the warm reception it’s getting must leave them breathing a sigh of relief. Catching the Android wave may’ve seemed like the last available move but a device like the MILESTONE makes turning the tide much more likely.

So, Motorola are back with a bang and the MILESTONE is one of the best spec’d phone to ever run Android. The Google Nexus One is supposed to instill fear in nearly every touchscreen device out there but the Moto Droid must be positioned well enough by now to withstand the attack.

Main disadvantages

No DivX and XviD video playback

No smart and voice dialing

Somewhat clumsy camera interface and limited camera features

No free GPS navigation solution

No Flash support for the web browser

No FM radio

There’s hardly anything missing on the Motorola MILESTONE spec sheet so we should be ready for an exciting ride. The test-drive got us impressed: at the end of our preview we felt positive about the MILESTONE prospects. So now, the Moto DROID has a full review ahead to build on that good impression.

Considering the rate of its sales, the handset is doing well from a user point of view too. Yet, a short-lived success is just not good enough for Motorola: the company doesn’t have the resources to come up with an equally talented successor as quick as some of the competitors. So, the MILESTONE needs to stick around the top of the sales charts for at least a few months to give Motorola some breathing space.

The leaked specs sheet looks impressive with 3.7’’ 840×485 WVGA capacitive multi-touch screen, 8 megapixel camera and HDMI output like the one in Zune HD. This combination of HDMI port + 8 megapixel camera will enable Sholes (Droid 2.0) to record high definition video, and then output it in HD 720p resolution.

Sholes Tablet will be powered by Android 2.0 and will not include physical keyboard like its predecessor Motorola Droid on Verizon. We can expect official word on Sholes Tablet from Motorola soon.

Sholes Tablet will probably go on sale in second half of 2010. With Sony Ericsson’s Xperia X10 also set to release in the same year as Sholes Tablet and with 8 megapixels camera, things are surely looking good for theAndroid camp. [via BGR]

from Motorola, the Motorola Cliq which is now an all exclusive T-Mobile US handset is ready to reach the users on November 2. The phone was announced not a long while ago so the November 2nd availability date (for all) is a big surprise as only the pre-orders were being expected all this while.

The Cliq as per Motorola is the first phone with social skills which means the younger lot could appreciate this device. Also, it features the MOTOBLUR technology that syncs all the social networking sites with regular updates and backups.

Even the home-screen is fully customizable which helps you get all social networking widgets along with the regular phone functions and features on a single tap right upfront.Pre-orders for the phone have begun today but there is hardly any point taking the plunge when you realize that November is only a couple of weeks away. All that you need to do is to arrange $200 for then you could grab this baby on a two-year contract.
